Sexpo is Australia’s leading adult lifestyle expo — and it’s all about celebrating diversity, pleasure, and empowerment. I worked with Sexpo on a rebrand to create bold, inclusive campaigns that spark conversation and challenge stereotypes. Through provocative content, influencer partnerships, and community engagement, we made Sexpo a must-attend event.
Sexpo Australia's Brand Renaissance
In the ever-evolving landscape of events and exhibitions, Sexpo Australia has long been a beacon of progress and longevity as the world's largest and longest-running adult exhibition. Faced with the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought the events industry to a standstill, Sexpo was on the brink of an uncertain future. Yet, as the world slowly recovered, Sexpo was ready to make a triumphant return in 2022, now with a revitalized brand mission focused on education and empowerment in health and sexuality.
Objective
To redefine Sexpo's brand identity and mission, ensuring a successful relaunch that would attract a new audience and re-engage existing fans.
Strategy
The relaunch strategy was as audacious as Sexpo itself, requiring a complete brand overhaul within a mere 4 weeks. The plan was to reintroduce Sexpo with a fresh, modern image that retained its core essence while appealing to contemporary sensibilities.
Execution
Photoshoot: We initiated the brand refresh with a new photoshoot that captured the spirit of Sexpo's new direction—provocative yet refined, aligning with the event's educational and empowering objectives.
Omni-Channel Campaign: A multi-channel campaign was meticulously redesigned to resonate with a broad audience, ensuring that the new brand image was communicated effectively across all platforms.
Strategic Partnerships: Leveraging the power of collaboration, we forged partnerships with exclusive podcasts and radio segments that shared Sexpo's vision, amplifying our reach and impact.
City Takeover: The campaign reached its zenith with an all-out city takeover in Sydney and Melbourne, utilizing out-of-home advertising and guerilla marketing to create an omnipresent reminder of the excitement and enlightenment that Sexpo promised.
Results
The campaign was an unparalleled success, leading to the highest ticket sales in Sexpo's history. The strategic rebranding and comprehensive campaign not only rejuvenated the brand but also solidified Sexpo's position as a trailblazer in the industry.
